Come have a drink Uptown!

Here is a list of my favorite place to grab a drink and catch up with friends in Harlem.

They have dubbed themselves as Harlem's Favorite Taqueria and Bar, and they pack out their bar almost every Happy Hour.  Not only do they have a kick-ass happy hour but a great Taco Tuesday special for only $3, and THERE IS NO LIMIT!

329 Malcolm X Blvd, New York, NY 10027

hexagon lounge*

This lounge offers live music, board games, and a laid-back atmosphere.

Daily 5 - 8 pm
318 W 142nd St, New York, NY 10030

The honeywell

This bar has successfully disrupted the bar scene in Hamilton Heights (which I still call Harlem) by providing us with a 70's retro speakeasy kind of vibe.  This is the sister bar to Harlem Public and At The Wallace, and each bar has a different type of ambiance.  At The Honeywell, they create a memorable experience for the patron by the way the cocktail is crafted right before your eyes.

Daily 4-6 pm
3604 Broadway, New York, NY 10031

La Diagonal

La Diagonal offers agave spirits, hand-crafted cocktails, and Mexican tapas.

Monday - Thursday 4:30 - 6 pm
185 St Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10026

oso

Did you know the owner is the Alex Trebek's son?  Apparently while bartending in undergrad is how Matthew Trebek caught the hospitality bug and decided to open up his open restaurant in Harlem with a Mexican street food concept.

The Row Harlem*

Located near the historical Strivers’ Row, this restaurant offers R&B and Hip-Hop as the soundtrack to your good time and a variety of frozen drinks and menu that will keep everyone in your crew happy.

Tuesday - Friday 4 -7 pm

2374 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10030

Sexy Taco*

Serving San Francisco street food this Black-owned restaurant has daily happy hour specials such as tacos, nachos, burritos, and more.

VINATERIA*

In 2013, Vinateria opened in what is known as Restaurant Row in the historic neighborhood of Harlem. The owner, Yvette Leeper-Bueno, has created a space where you can enjoy house-made pasta and indulge in Italian and Spanish-inspired fare while pairing your meal with the perfect wine from her restaurant’s comprehensive list. Vinateria’s happy hour includes select $7 wines, $5 beers, and $8 cocktails. With a happy hour menu of great range and value, it also includes small bites and $1.50 oysters. Full review of Vinateria here.

YATENGA*

This French Bistro and Bar is located on 7th avenue with ample outdoor seating.
