Drinks at Refinery Rooftop

Refinery Rooftop

Rooftop bars are a beautiful escape from this concrete jungle, but what better way to see this enchanting city?  With an abundance of rooftop bars in New York City, the possibilities are endless.  If you are going to do a rooftop bar you might as well go somewhere you can make sure rain, sleet, or snow you are going to get a great view.  Might I add the view at Refinery Rooftop does this and provides you with a great look at the Empire State Building.  This chic Midtown rooftop bar offers up creative and seasonal cocktails along with small bites as well.

Rooftop bars are more expensive than traditional bars so be prepared to leave the broke boys (or girls) at home.  Their specialty cocktails range from $14-$18, and if you are a beer lover than be expecting a price tag of $8-$9.  Like to Rose all day? Then you are looking at about $14 a glass.  This rooftop bar does serve up some small bites that include their Disco Tots which are covered in braised short ribs, tomato, cheddar, and horseradish aioli for only 28 George Washingtons.  What I am trying to prepare you for is sticker shock, in case you are one who is counting them coins.  Do I think the specialty cocktails are worth it?  YES!  Do I think the food is worth it? NO!  I have had the food before on two occasions, and it was nothing to write home about.  Regardless, when forking over your card for the bill, you have to remember that you are paying for fresh ingredients, ambiance, a view of the Empire State, and beautiful decor.

The crowd at Refinery Rooftop is typically your after professional work crowd, and surprisingly this is NOT at tourist magnet.  The Refinery would make for a great first date spot to grab drinks or hang with your girls, or after work drinks with coworkers.
