Vida Verde: Hottest New Rooftop In NYC
Vida Verde has the hottest rooftop for dining in Manhattan and just in time for Summer Friday season. This bi-level Mexican restaurant is located in the Midtown West area open almost a year ago but their rooftop just open a little after the Memorial Day weekend. Their vibrant rooftop includes a beautiful mural of Frida Kahlo done by Victor Quinonez, colorful, the perfect amount of greenery, and colorful tables and chairs.
The chef, Hugo Orozco, is a native of Mazatlan, Mexico has created a menu that is a perfect blend between traditional and contemporary Mexican food. The dinner menu at Vida Verde is designed to be shared and their small plates includes items such as chipotle BBQ wings, tacos, guacamole, ceviche, carnita sliders, and more. Their popular guacamole is made table-side and at your desired level of spice and comes in two different sizes as well. Brunch is the most important meal for us weekend warriors and Vida has a boozy brunch that they refer to as Boozy Brunchacha that includes an entree and 90 minutes of bottomless drinks that ranges from $40 - $50 based upon the type drinks you get. The brunch menu includes items such as sunrise quesadilla, huevos rancheros, duck hash, and the garden fritta. Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 6 pm and I strongly encourage reservations (which can be made via OpenTable, Resy, or Yelp).
Vida Verde has a number of specials which include their happy hour that runs from 4 - 7 pm and then a reverse one from 11 pm - close. Their happy hour include:
- $10 - margarita
- $10 - sangria
- $6 - draft beer
- $5 - Tecate
- $6 - wine
- $10 - Tecate & tequila shot
Vida Verde is a large restaurant but I what I enjoy about them the most outside of the amazing food is the great customer service. The communication between the front and back of the house is seamless and it explains all of the high ratings and reviews they have received on multiple platforms. Don't be the last of your friends to check out this rooftop!
