Brunch at Queens Comfort

Queens Comfort NYC.jpg

Queens is the largest borough in New York City and comes with a diverse food scene because of a large number of nationalities represented there.  I recently took my brunchin' talents to Queens to check out one of the restaurants that have been listed several times as a MUST TRY!  Queens Comfort is known for their perfect mashup of food combinations you never thought of and NOT letting you down once the food hits your mouth.  This cash-only establishment has been in business since 2011 and rose to popularity for their small-batch doughnuts and larger than life food portions.

Queens Comfort opens their door at 10 am sharp on Saturday and Sunday, and you can guarantee there is a line of hungry patrons standing outside.  Awaiting them equipped with his best jokes to be sure to bring a smile to your face is Mr. Avatar.  Upon walking in the restaurant you are greeted by a collection of comic book covers, board games, Christmas lights, and figurines from your fondest childhood memories.  This place transports you back to those happy child feelings which only adds to your experience.  I would recommend checking out the menu before you go because you will spend your first 10 minutes trying to take in everything from the extensive menu to the eclectic decorations.  Their menu includes all the things you wished your mom made for you for breakfast such as Oreo Brioche French Toast, Deep Fried French Toast Balls, and Cap'n Crunch Crusted Fried Chicken.

For starters, I ordered the Stuffed Jalapenos and after having one I was upset with myself for offering to share with others.  Yes, they were that good!  I had been eyeing the Breakfast Burrito since the day prior to brunch and the mash-up of scrambled eggs, sausage, fries, cheddar and sriracha aioli, and scallions sounded perfect.  The portions that Queens Comfort provides you with requires you to come hungry if you plan to demolish all your food.  I would also recommend ordering any of their doughnuts, the cookie crumble rainbow cake, and their bread pudding.  Their donuts are made in small batches and there are weekly specials that sell out quickly.

Queens Comfort is the perfect place for families and groups.  I encourage arriving between 9:30 am - 10 am to be seated right away, or at 3 pm as their website suggest.  If you want to avoid the crowd all together, then I would recommend coming on a weekday.  As mentioned earlier this a cash-only establishment but they do have an ATM on site to make it easy.
