Top 5: Happy Hour in Flatiron

Every now and again you don’t feel like dropping $12-$15 on a drink, but this is New York City and that is the going rate for a cocktail.  I am about to put you on game and show you some great bars to grab a drink after work in Flatiron.

Zio - Ever get in a relationship, get hooked, things start moving fast, and next thing you know…you are sprung? Yeah that happened with Zio.  Zio is not a man, but an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant located in the heart of the Flatiron area.

Happy Hour is every day from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm and includes not only amazing prices for drinks but also for food!  I think I need to repeat myself real quick!  Happy Hour is EVERY DAY! Some of my favorites food items from the Happy Hour menu include the Ravioli, Zio Meatballs, and the Fried Zucchini with Calamari.  Happy Hour drinks include $4 draft beer, $6 wine, and $10 specialty cocktails.

TsuruTonTan Udon Noodle Brasserie - TsuruTonTan happy hour is all day everyday!  That was not a typo in that last sentence, and I suggest you hop on board before they change this promotion.  Happy hour is only at the bar and includes some specialty cocktails, wine, beer, and appetizers as well.  The bar gets packed around 6:30 so get there early to secure your seat at the bar.

Sala One Nine -  Due to the illusion of the curtains, it gives off this sense of a smaller space.  If you venture in you will discover an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant with a great happy hour and two spacious bars.

Here is the run down!  Sala One Nine is open for lunch at noon in which they have a menu that includes croquetas, hot sandwiches, and paella.  To accompany their lunch entrees they have $5 sangria (red and white) and draft beers.  Happy hour then starts at 4 pm and goes until 7 pm and it is half off sangria, draft beer, and select Spanish wines.

Serenata - This Contemporary Mexican restaurant is tucked away in the basement level of a building at corner of 17th and 6th Ave.  I think what initially sparked my interest is $5 margaritas and sangrias for happy hour.  Call me a lush if you want, but I am a sucker for a great happy hour.  The food at Serenata is not only pleasing to the eye, but will awakens your taste buds.

Serenata has Happy Hour on Sunday - Thursday from 4pm - 8pm, and on Friday - Saturday from 4pm - 7pm.  If you want to catch them prior to happy hour I would encourage you trying their prix fixe lunch that starts at $9.

Punch - This bar has a happy hour that starts at noon and goes until 7 pm.  If that is not winning then I don't know what is!  They have beer, wine, and Presecco on the their happy hour menu.
